The term compliance describes the ability to act according to an order, set of rules or request. Non-compliance of laws and regulations is a noted fact all over the world, emanating enterprise risks and threatening the position of companies from regulatory side. In the context of financial services businesses compliance operates at the level of compliance with the external rules that are imposed upon an organisation as a whole, as well as on the level of compliance with internal systems of control that are imposed to achieve compliance with the externally imposed rules. At the end of the compliance assessment, the decision on whether the applicant is given registered status is made by the relevant authorities.
